A small profit is better than a large loss. Don’t take undue chances in your life.

Some people that I know after high school have had only one job. They stayed on that job till they retired and got retirement benefits, meaning that they have never been unemployed in their entire working career history. Those jobs that they stayed on, were not always pleasant, or paid them what they were worth. They had mean and stupid bosses, bad working conditions, but they never had a house reposession or a spouse leave them because they never had any money, and they gradually progressed in order to accomplish something and have something.

It is a part of human nature, to always think that you’re not being paid what you’re worth or deserve. That might be true, but its not going to help you, because noone cares.

If you don’t have a job that pays you a salary, take a job or do some work, that doesn’t pay you anything. It’s better to be working even if you don’t get paid, than to be idle.

Sometimes the best way to get a job, is to volunteer your services, at a job. If you’re a volunteer, you’re the first person that the boss and the other employees think about hiring when there is a job available. They know if you’ll work for free, you’ll work when you get paid. There are some people who say I will not work for free when I need money.

Its a strange thing that when you work the creation is mandated to pay you. I’ve worked as an unpaid clergyman for forty years, and if I look back, I don’t know how I made it. But when I think back, I don’t remember any missed meals, actual days of being homeless, or when I didn’t have basic clothes. Now that’s not to say that I didnt live in places that I didn’t want to live in, or wear clothes that I didn’t want to wear, or ate food that I didn’t want to eat. But for those forty years, I managed to be paid some kind of way.

Its a part of your nature to do productive work. If you’re not employed presently, find out what you would like to do more than anything else in the world, and make that your occupation. Continue to do that until you can find a way to get paid doing that.

If you want to create  a job for yourself, become an expert at something. And that something should be the thing that you want to do more than anything else in the world, whether you’re paid for it or not. If you continue to prepare yourself for something, people will automatically see you as that thing whether you have that job or not. I am called a teacher by some people, and a professor by others, but I have no paid position for these professions. But what it is is people read into me what I am.

Everyone has a name for what they are, and its not the name your parents gave you. Your name is what you do and what you are. If you are a liar and lie alot, there will be a mark on you whereby soon after, everyone will say that person is a liar. If you drink wine, there will be a mark on you that says you are a whino. If you study physics and continue to study physics, whether you went to school or not, whether anyone hired you or not, you study long enough, and you will be known as a physicist. It is the accquiring of the knowledge and the practicing of that endevour that makes you that thing.

Whatever you are in, get all the information that you can get on that thing. Go to the library and read the books on that, buy the books on that, join the clubs for that, go to the seminars and meet the people who are that, find the experts and the authorities in the world who do that. Pretty soon, you will be named as a mamber of the group of those people who do that. But whatever you do in any field or occupation or hobby, make a decision in your mind that you want to be the number one authority in the world, on that. Dont think you cant do that, and don’t not pursue it, the closer you become to being the number one authority in the world in that, the more in demand you’ll be for that. If you only get one idea a day in that endevour you are coming closer and closer everyday.

There was a young man who told his father he wanted to study becoming a video game maker. His father laughed at him and said, “No I won’t give you money to go to college to study that, because you won’t make any money doing that.” So the boy said, “If I can sell one video game that I designed will you help me?” the father said yes. The boy sold his first video game to the defense department which was working on simulated jet and submarine training. He made one thousand dollars off his first sale, and so his father helped him. Now he’s one of the world authorities on simulations, simulated training, simulated warfare, and all kind of programs on computers. And he’s quite wealthy too.

And it doesn’t make a difference what your love is, if you try to be the world authority on that, it’ll pay you big money. Even a person who’s a counterfeiter, and he’s good, can make better money than the federal reserve. When they get caught they generally get put in prison, but the best of them, the government hires them to help them catch other counterfeiters. If you’re a card shark and you hustle casinos, eventually you’ll get hired by casinos to bust other sharks, but only if you’re the best. If you can bake cakes and can make the best cake, you will be famous and are probably going to be rich.

You can never let anyone dissuade you from what you’re attempting to do, although they will come and try to convince you not to be successful. You can listen to everybody, but don’t take everyones’ advice.

Eventually you will become a loner, because you’ll reach the threshold of the knowledge of your profession and there wont be anyone to ask anymore if this knowledge is real or not. Once you pass that threshold, the highest bidders in the world are going to contract you for your services or you products.

The rich people and the famous people search the earth to find the most expensive and the highest quality everything. If you’re going to write a book, the book should be phenomenal. You should revise it and work with it and pull in all the people you possibly can to make it a superb production. The design of the cover should be superb, the binding should be superb, the paper top notch. Even the ink, the font, everything should be perfect. The distributor should be a professional. If you try to perfect and have every aspect of the product and service perfected, when you get to the end you’ll have a total perfected profect. But if you just gloss over everything you’ll have a mediocre piece of junk that can’t even compete with other junk. If you don’t perfect everything, you won’t have a total sequence perfected product.

Don’t worry about what your product or service costs. There’s always somebody out there who’s willing to pay you more than what it costs. Don’t underestimate your product or service.

When you are seen as one of the leaders of your field, and you are outwardly recognized as maybe the top ten people in whatever you’re doing, then and only then does your preparation and your study truly begin. Some people when they become top ten try to rest. They think they’ve arrived and they can lay back and bring in the proceeds, but what happens is some hungry youngster will fly right past you.

Sometimes when you become successful, rich, and famous, you think its time to enjoy all this stuff you didn’t enjoy. But that’s the time, when you’re in the focus and the limelight, when the cameras on you, that’s when you have to become a monk in terms of character and demeanor, or else they’ll fix you and take you down quick. Example: Tiger Woods was number one, then he slipped, and after all the pressure, he crumbled… Hes making a return now, but when he became number one, that’s when he should have really started his preparation and became more cautious about the pole dancers and fancy hos. And it almost destroyed him. Think how many millions of dollars of deals he lost, just so he could get laid. He paid for it then, and he’s paying for it now.

Don’t be afraid to take advantage of your fame, renown, or name - God gave you that.

Its hard to get to the top, but its really easy to come all the way back down.

Its better to be called up, than it is to be forced down. When you get to the threshold, be patient, and you will be called up to fill the top posiiton. If you’re close to the top and you push or force yourself into a position at the top, the people at the top are obligated to destroy you. The most dangerous position is being near the top. When you’re near the top you have to be nonaggressive, non ambitious for the top, and you have to go into anonymity mode.

And remember you’re not doing this for riches, you’re doing this for the ideal. If you’re doing this for the riches, you’ve failed before you even started.
